Are your clients this happy to see you? I hope so.

If not, what can you do to change that?

Did You See This?

Did you see this?

I consider myself a pretty aware person. How about you? Well, I failed this awareness test. Maybe you’ll fare better. Watch this video. It’s very short. See how you do and then join me back here. awareness test

How did you do?

The law of attraction (and it’s a law so you don’t get to argue with it) says that you get what you focus on. Focus on how few clients you have in a week and guess what you get? Fewer clients. Pay attention to the fact that you’ve helped someone this week and guess what you get? More opportunities to help.

I know it can feel challenging. The “truth” is you only had 2 clients and you want 20. The “truth” is that you have a crappy landlord (mine’s great BTW) or that you’re really tired or your back hurts. But when you focus on that stuff you often miss the wonderful and amazing things that do show up.

Flip Switch

Do you know this tip from Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn? She suggests you come up with a “flip switch” topic every morning.

Pick a topic that feels good to focus on. It can be anything. The daffodils in your yard, the positive feedback from a client, how you feel when you hear your favorite song…

Then when you find your mind gremlins fuming over the client who no-showed you shift your thoughts to those beautiful daffodils. You’ll shift away from thoughts that attract more no-showing clients to a more positive vibe attracting more of everything good. You might even see a moonwalking bear and you can’t beat that.

Sound a little to Pollyanna like for you? Try it for a week and notice what happens.

How’d you do on the test? Your thoughts?

Would You Coach Me?

Will You Share Your Thoughts on This?

I love to learn and read. Books are my favorite possessions. Anything to do with healing and health, business success, massage, spiritual practices, yoga, energy, intuition, aromatherapy…Seeing a pattern?

I also enjoy writing. And I enjoy helping others align with their gifts so they can offer them to the world.

So when I heard about the upcoming Next Spiritual Author contest it seemed a natural for me. But I want to know if there are people out there who would benefit from what I’m thinking about writing. I’m hoping you’ll give me some feedback so I know whether to proceed with this direction. Or maybe a different path?

The healers and spiritual entrepreneurs I’ve worked with feel passionately about their work. It may even feel like a calling. Is this you?

1. You’re excited about sharing your gifts and knowledge with others.

2. You don’t always resonate with traditional sales and marketing info. Not your favorite stuff.

3. You know you need to do something to support the growth and health of your business.

4. You know you need to take care of you in the process. The body mind and spirit of you.

Right Under Your Nose

What I’ve found is that the energetic and vibrational tools we love to use in our practices and lives—aromatherapy, yoga, energy work…— also serve us well in our business. Eureka! There’s gold in them thar tools.

Imagine feeling scared about your business. Not much of a stretch to imagine for many of us. When you start out you wonder if you’ll have enough clients. Do you know enough to help people? Enough not to hurt them? Will your clients know you’re scared? Can you really make a living?

But that fear can stick around for seasoned practitioners too. Will clients like the new modality you’re adding? Will it be challenging to move to a new area and start over? Can your business weather a rough economy…?

A Bigger, Better Toolkit

Wouldn’t it be great if you had a manual that you could open up and find something that would soothe your fear, something that would help you feel surer, maybe even brave?

The book I’m working on would offer you a selection of choices—a yoga pose, some essential oil suggestions, or an energy technique–for fear and other gremlins. A yoga pose that will help you feel grounded, an essential oil that will open your heart, a flower essence for helping you trust and let go, a breath that calms presentation jitters…

I’m thinking of sections for common issues that bodyworkers and spiritual entrepreneurs face. Issues like:

• Being stuck

• Feeling unsure or confused

• Completely overwhelmed

• Lacking balance

• Stressed

• Fatigue

• Unfocused

• Needing psychic protection and clearing

• Feeling spacey

I’m looking for your honest feedback here. Does this concept make sense? Do I sound like a crazy woman? Would you buy the book? Your ideas? Issues you would add?

And You?

My question for you…

Are you waiting? Are you waiting to take a training you’re interested in? Are you waiting to move to your own space or move out of a space that doesn’t work for you and your clients?

Are waiting to set up your website, make a decision about how to market your business? Are you waiting to come out as an energy worker, fire a client that’s not a great match for you, or…

So many reasons…

We wait for a variety of reasons.

What if this isn’t the “right” decision?

What if things don’t work out?

What if I can’t make a living doing this?

What if I can’t afford my office rent?

Or all my clients leave me?

And my personal favorite, what if it’s not perfect?

Your thoughts, ideas, questions? I’d love to hear them on the articles, audios, and videos I post. Let’s get a conversation going!

I’ve been waiting.

At first I had good reasons. Other priorities. My new website wasn’t ready. Then there were glitches in the new site to work out. And then…

And then I started to argue for my limitations.

“Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they’re yours.”

Richard Bach

I went from genuine reasons to not blogging yet (no blog set up was a pretty good reason, don’t you think?) to arguing for my limits. The New Year was coming. Might as well wait until then. Plenty of other things on my plate especially with the holidays…

Finally I asked for guidance. And it was clear I should start writing now. Not next year. Now.

To blog, let us count the reasons

Well, it’s really one big reason. More interaction. I’ve been sending out my ezine for 3 years. I get comments back (and I really appreciate them.) BUT you never get to talk with each other.

Now you’ll be able to make comments right here at the article. You can share more about who you are, as well as your ideas. Learn from the ideas of others. Ask for clarification.

Here’s what to expect (although this is a work in progress.)

Great resources for your massage or healing practice. Notice I said “your” practice. The information I’ll be sharing isn’t just about growing a successful massage practice. It’s about creating and growing a practice uniquely your own.

I’ll share ideas like:

Energy work tips to help keep you and your business energized and aligned

Ways to attract more of “your” clients

The care and feeding of massage therapists/healers

And…

Inspiration. We all need some inspiration. Success stories, quotes,… I’ll share mine. Will you share yours?

Your thoughts, ideas, questions? I’d love to hear them on the articles, audios, and videos I post. Let’s get a conversation going!
